Tyrrell’s Rufus Stone Heathcote Shiraz (ABV 15%)
THE Tyrell family, of New South Wales, are purveyors of some of Australia’s best Shiraz: intense, deep, crimson-coloured reds. The nose delivers ripe plum and dark cherry notes, with a hint of white pepper and vanilla. The palate is smooth and balanced. So balanced that the 15% alcohol never overpowers the wine. Instead, it is full of dark, soft, ripe fruit – damson, plum - black pepper and coffee, and great acidity.
