Gato Negro, one of Chile’s oldest and most recognisable wine brands, has a rich history dating back to the 1960s when it was first released. Today, it remains one of the country’s best-known wines, celebrated for its accessible, fruit-forward styles that appeal to a broad range of palates.

Sourced primarily from Chile’s Central Valley, the vineyards benefit from the region’s mild Mediterranean climate, surrounded by the Andes Mountains. The combination of warm, sunny days and tempering maritime influences—coastal sea breezes and the cool air sweeping down from the Andes—ensures that the grapes ripen slowly, developing maximum flavour potential.
