Ménage à Trois originated in 1996 as a blend of three red varietals, created by two psychiatric professionals at the Folie à Deux Winery in St. Helena, California. The wine quickly captured the imagination of wine lovers, spreading by word of mouth, and soon expanded to include white and rosé blends. The brand’s growth accelerated after it was added to the Trinchero Family Estates portfolio in 2004. Ménage à Trois is credited with creating the Red Blend category and defining the American Super Premium Red Blend segment, solidifying its iconic status in the wine industry.
