The natural balance and mathematical spiral of the Nautilus shell have inspired Nautilus Estate to create expressive, textural, and precisely crafted wines since its establishment in 1985, during the early days of Marlborough winegrowing. At that time, there were around 80 wineries in New Zealand; today, that number has grown to over 700. Despite this growth, Nautilus Estate remains small, family-owned, and committed to producing wines exclusively from the stunning Marlborough region.
Winemaker Clive Jones joined Nautilus in 1998, and under his guidance, the estate has earned numerous accolades and trophies, as well as positions for Clive on both the Marlborough Winegrowers and New Zealand Winegrowers boards. While the estate appreciates the recognition from its peers, it is their belief in the marriage of fine wine and food that continues to inspire each new vintage.
