Tiki Wine & Vineyards is a sustainably certified family-owned business run by Royce and Sue McKean and located in the North Canterbury Wine Region of New Zealand. They are committed to sustainable winegrowing, caring for their vines under the guiding Māori principles of kaitiakitanga – the guardianship, protection, and preservation of the earth for future generations. In 2024, Master of Wine, Alastair Maling joined Tiki as their consultant director of winemaking. He leads their winemaking team, bringing extensive expertise continuing the tradition of exceptional quality of wines across the Tiki brand portfolio.
The name ‘Tiki’ was chosen to honour owner Royce’s great-great-great grandfather, Ngāti Uenuku Māori Chieftain Tiki Tere Mihi. It is also a hand crafted taonga (treasure) of New Zealand, which, when gifted, bestows good fortune and love on others. It is with that same care and spirit that they make their wines.
Tiki is their flagship brand and includes the Tiki Single Vineyard range. These wines are made from hand-selected parcels of fruit and are an expression of time, their place and their people. Like the Tiki, these wines are made to be gifted and shared with others.
